Manray HSU
Manray Hsu is an independent curator and art critic based in Taipei. He is co-founder and director (2010-2012) of Taipei Contemporary Art Center, editor-in-chief of ArtCo Magazine Mainland China edition (2013-2014), and teaches in art academies in Taiwan and abroad. Living and working in Berlin in early 2000s, Manray has worked with contemporary artists in Europe, including those from the former East.

Course Objectives:
Through text reading, exhibition visiting and exhibition practices, the course focuses on the complex relationship the exhibition and art works, and public culture; on exhibition making, display methodology, mediation and education processes.
Course Outline:
- The relationship between exhibition and works exhibited.
- Fundamentals of exhibition making: project delineating; organisation; budget; public relation; publicity etc.
- Work production and installation.
- The exhibition as a media.
- Exhibition and education.
Implementation method:
- Reading, analysis and discussion of literature on exhibition history and curating.
- Exhibition visitation, analysis and discussion.
- Exhibition practices: proposal, project management and realisation.
