Course Objectives:
This course provides a broad introduction to the museum world: their mission, their nature and their work. It is organized around the key professional activities of museums: collecting, conserving, exhibiting and educating. The emphasis is on theories as well as practices, and students are expected to gain an understanding of the responsibilities that museum staff encounter.

Lecture, class discussion and field trip
Grading Policy:
Grading is based on two writing assignments: mid-term (30%) and final (70%) in the form of an essay.
